ZAGG: Building A Major Brand

Today ZAGG announced that Shu Ueyama, Founder of the Sony Walkman, joined the Board of Directors. When I met with the company late last year the management team told me they were going to build a billion dollar brand and at the time I shrugged it off as irrational exuberance. Let me back track a little and say that I’ve probably talked to ZAGG management a hundred times since my initial investment in October of last year. They have been gracious enough to share their grandiose vision with me several times and each time they share it I believe it more and more. In over a decade of investing in micro cap companies, ZAGG is one of the few that has delivered everything they said they were going to deliver. Mr. Ueyama has experience building a multibillion dollar brand in the Sony Walkman and his addition to ZAGG certainly adds another cog in the ZAGG wheel that keeps on turning.
